Nongshim Mr. Bibim Korean Spicy Chicken Flavor

Nongshim Mr. Bibim Korean Spicy Chicken Flavor is indeed spicy but I didn’t have a clue where the Mr. Bibim name came from so I looked around and of course the source is the best place to search. Per Nongshim’s website the website,

“A Korean word “Bibim” means “Stir” in English.

Mr.BIBIM was born to get closer to non-Korean consumers who are more used to soupless noodle dishes such as spaghetti or pad thai. ” http://eng.nongshim.com/brand/mrbibim/main/index

Thanks Nongshim for the info. Now that we’ve settled the mystery let’s dig in and find out what these taste like. The packaging for is a little misleading in that it didn’t instill a fear of fire that it might have.

Inside the package were the standard dehydrated veggies and a packet of dark red sauce. The sauce should have been a tip off that they might be a little spicy but I love spicy and therefore welcome a little heat.

Overall the noodles were good and while the fire contained within didn’t rival Samyang’s 2x Spicy Chicken it was formidable. I will try these again soon to give a more detailed review as these were some pretty good noodles.

The noodles were not too think and the sauce was really good too. The dry noodles allowed for the full flavor of the sauce to shine through. It was a blessed day of noodle adventuring and I really did like these. Looking at them they don’t have thick sauce that it present in the Samyang version. I’m not sure if these were meant to compete with Samyang or what.

7 out of 10

Consistency – Thick sauce in a dry noodle, no soup

Spiciness – A step below Samyang’s original spicy fried chicken

Ingredients – Thick sauce is awesome while the dehydrated veggies are nothing to inspiring.

Noodles – The noodles were good, pretty standard for Nongshim
