New Bokki and another Ottogi bokki ramen to review for my faithful followers. The candidate for the day is Ottogi Jjajang Bokki Noodles! The ramen revolution has begun and the momentum we build forging a future of ramen dominance is at hand. Lend me your ears and appetites so that we can quell the unknowing masses about the greatness that is RAMEN.
Uh, sorry….a little carried away I guess. That was probably more excitement than this bowl should warrant but if you read my Ottogi Ramen Bokki review you probably saw that I cleared up some misconceptions about what Ottogi was giving me. Bokki means stir fried, bokki means stir fried, bokki means stir fried, bokki means stir fried, bokki means stir fried! Brain memory, I have it now. SO…..with that out of the way I set forth to check this bowl out.
Contents
The bowl came with the same drain spout as they are “bokki” – “bokki means stir fried, bokki means stir fried!” Inside I found 1 large packet of seasoning powder and a large bag of dried veggies and beans?
Seasoning
The seasoning packet was very large and the powder itself was rich with a soy bean gravy-like smell.
Veggies/Beans
The veggie/bean packet was dehydrated veggies and something that resembled dried dog food. Delicious!
I steeped the noodles and veggies to drain them in the nifty space age drainage bowl from the engineers at the Ottogi! Thanks engineers!
Wah – lah! BOKKI!
Ruling
The powder really made them dry and I had to add additional water to get them to the consistency I like but the finished product was very nice. The powder made a very good glaze over the noodles and I found these to be better balanced than many other jjajang noodles. Today, if I decided I wanted instant jjajang then I’d probably go with these.
