Ottogi Odongtong Myon Seafood Spicy Ramyon appealed to me because of the cherry decorated fishcakes on the packaging. A very shallow thing that it, to choose a ramen for cherry decorated fishcake but there it is….the horrid truth. I’m in the open now, judge me as you will. While you’re doing that let me tell you what I think of Ottogi Odongtong Myon Seafood Spicy Ramyon.
Contents
Beneath the ramen covers lay a package of dried veggies, a slice, a piece or a sheet of kelp. Pick the wording you like the best. To keep the others company a sachet of powdered seasoning was included.
Noodles
The noodles included were of standard Korean stock in that they were the general puck size of white semi-thick noodles. Always a pleasure to eat these but they are for the most part very similar.
Veggies
I guess this should say veggies and fishcake as they were included in the sachet. The veggies in here looked very plentiful with a lot of seaweed included. The variety looked really interesting as well. The fishcake was a let down though, no cherries.
Seasoning
The seasoning sachet was pretty thick and when opened had a really seafood smell to it. It was really red too, I hoped that meant spicy.
Ruling
The bowl smelled good once prepared. The veggies and kelp needed to be boiled well to cook. That kelp was pretty thick and hard. Once it was cooked it was still pretty thick and a little chewy. The fishcake was pretty tasteless and again…lacked cherries. The seaweed I saw in the veggie pack was indeed plentiful and added to the seafoodiness of the bowl.
