Samyang Sriracha Ramen claims on the packaging that it is a “Spicy Flavor Stir-Fried Noodle” and that it has a “Sour Spicy Taste”. The packaging is perfect for a Sriracha Flavored ramen and Samyang nailed the essence of Sriracha. The primary thing missing here is the giant rooster to make the package complete.

Ottogi Jjajang Bokki Noodles
New Bokki and another Ottogi bokki ramen to review for my faithful followers. The candidate for the day is Ottogi Jjajang Bokki Noodles! Ottogi Ramen Bokki
I was at the store and saw this Ottogi Ramen Bokki staring at me and I mistakenly thought that it was a version of ttoekbokki. Apparently bokki means stir fry though and this was not the case. I was a bit disappointed at this but was happy to find that the flavor for these is very similar to my favorite chewy Korean street food ttoekbokki.
Ottogi Spicy Rice Cake Tteokbokki Noodles
When I saw Ottogi Spicy Rice Cake Tteokbokki Noodles it reminded me of the time I lived in Korea for a while and when I went back a couple years ago. The food I had while Iwas back was just like I remembered it from having lived there. I loved tteokbokki and have not had the best experiences finding it outside Korea, at least not good tteokbokki. So I was a little skeptical about this being very good. What a fantastic surprise to find I was wrong…..

Samyang Bajirak Kalgugsu
Samyang Bajirak Kalgugsu is a clam soup. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from our friends at Samyang in this pack. The package shows clams, mushrooms and a slightly flat noodles.
Ottogi Cheese Ramen
I was told that Ottogi Cheese Ramen was spicy and since it was from Ottogi and therefore Korea why wouldn’t I believe it? The packaging shows a bowl of red soup with broccoli, corn, cheese, ham? and carrots in it. The red would come from kimchi? The entire bowl is being reigned over by a cheese headed fairy spitting cheese dust into the soup. Continue reading “Ottogi Cheese Ramen”
Nongshim Mr. Bibim Korean Spicy Chicken Flavor
Nongshim Mr. Bibim Korean Spicy Chicken Flavor is indeed spicy but I didn’t have a clue where the Mr. Bibim name came from so I looked around and of course the source is the best place to search. Per Nongshim’s website the website,
“A Korean word “Bibim” means “Stir” in English.
Mr.BIBIM was born to get closer to non-Korean consumers who are more used to soupless noodle dishes such as spaghetti or pad thai. ” http://eng.nongshim.com/brand/mrbibim/main/index
Thanks Nongshim for the info. Now that we’ve settled the mystery let’s dig in and find out what these taste like. The packaging for is a little misleading in that it didn’t instill a fear of fire that it might have.
